Hockey New Brunswick announces development programs to be held in conjunction with World Under 17 Hockey Challenge
Hockey New Brunswick has a number of development activities planned in conjunction with the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge which will be held November 3rd-10th in Saint John / Quispamsis.
A list of activities and registration information is listed below:
PLAYER CAMPS:
All on-ice sessions will be held at Rothesay Netherwood Memorial Arena (40 College Hill Rd, Rothesay, NB).

The above Skills Sessions are $20.00/each and include an HNB Practice jersey, 50 minute on-ice session and two tickets to the USA vs Czech Republic game on Sunday November 4th, 12:00 p.m. at Harbour Station.
The player camps are open to players of all positions.
COACH CLINICS:
Hockey Canada Specialty Clinic – Skills and Small Area Games – Saturday November 3rd
Includes one-hour classroom session and one-hour on-ice session
Classroom Session – 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.
On-ice Session – 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Hockey Canada Level 1 Goaltending Clinic – Saturday November 3rd
Includes one hour classroom session and one-hour on-ice session
Classroom Session – 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

The above Coach Clinics are free of charge to attend, however pre-registration is required as space is limited. All attendees will receive a ticket to the USA vs Czech Republic game on Sunday November 4th, 12:00 p.m. at Harbour Station.
COACH SEMINAR
Date – Sunday November 4th
Location – Saint John Trade and Convention Centre
The seminar will have a variety of presentations in the areas of Sport Psychology, Player Development, Practice Planning, Leadership and Goaltending. The Seminar will start at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m.

ABOUT THE WORLD UNDER 17 HOCKEY CHALLENGE
The World Under-17 Hockey Challenge – an international showcase of some of the best young hockey talent in the world – returns to New Brunswick in the fall of 2018. Saint John and Quispamsis will co-host the tournament scheduled to run Nov. 3-10, 2018.

Since the first World Under-17 Hockey Challenge (previously known as the Quebec Esso Cup) in 1986, more than 1,600 NHL draft picks have played in the tournament, including 13 of the last 17 first-overall selections: Ilya Kovalchuk, 2001; Rick Nash, 2002; Marc-André Fleury, 2003; Alexander Ovechkin, 2004: Erik Johnson, 2006; Patrick Kane, 2007; John Tavares, 2009; Taylor Hall, 2010; Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, 2011; Nathan McKinnon, 2013; Aaron Ekblad, 2014; Connor McDavid, 2015; and Auston Matthews, 2016.
